    While the subject of the article is timely and relevant, the tone is way out of line.
    The recent proliferation of farmers markets in Richmond shows us that our citizens *want* farmers markets and that multiple markets can co-exist nicely in the same metro area. There is no reason as all to suggest that one market profits from the difficulties of another, or even to suggest that one is, in effect, killing the other. The reporter’s opening statement was rude, thoughtless and counter-productive.

    On July 19th, vendors at the South of the James Market will be asking…”What’s on your table?” A team of chefs from Positive Vibe Cafe is challenging a team headed by Council Member Kathy Graziano. the teams can only use produce and meats sold at the market, must purchase from market vendors, and must prepare a series of courses at the amrket for judging. Proceeds will go to Positive Vie’s mission of training people for careers in food service.
