More on the South of the James Market…

There is good news, however. The South of the James Market has already signed up for a second year and the Market Umbrella is considering expanding the hours beyond noon.

    I think it’s Graziano again. She has told the Parks Department she wants a reservation at normal rates for the market season.

    Market Vibe Chefs Challenge
    Location: South of the James Market, Forest Hill Park (42nd and NewKent)
    Saturday, July 19th
    8am - Noon
    Open to the public

    Watch two teams led by 4th District Councilwoman Kathy Graziano and Max’s Positive Vibe Café square off in a cooking competition using only goods and products sold at the South of the James Market. Teams will begin shopping for the chef throwdown at 8am and will have to post menus by 9am. Guests Chefs, Michael Hall, Bull and Bear Club, and Christopher Zechini, Christopher’s RunAway Gourmay, will begin judging at 11:30am and winners will be announced at Noon.

    Donations are welcomed and will benefit Max’s Positive Vibe Café.

    Very big news.
    The SOTJ Market has been extended through the end of November, with a special holiday market at least one day in December.
