City Sanitation Crew Aids Elderly Woman
(This story comes to us from Marc LaFountain with Richmond DPW. We’ve been meaning to post it for a couple weeks now)
On January 23, a Department of Public Works sanitation crew working in the Oxford area of southwest Richmond came upon an elderly woman lying in her driveway. They immediately helped her home and offered medical assistance. They also arranged for her to have special door service so that she will not have to bring her trash can down to the street in the future.
Because of their commendable actions in this situation, members of sanitation crew received Distinguished Service Awards from City Council on. Feb. 25. They are: Reginald Brown, Refuse Collector; Darrell Dobbin, Refuse Truck Operator; and Dale Mayo, a contract Collector from Boaz & Ruth.

Dale Mayo, Reginald Brown, Kathy C. Graziano (District 4 Council Member) and Darrell Dobbin

Dale Mayo, Reginald Brown, Anthony Miller (Trades Supervisor I), Rosemary Green (Acting Director of Public Works) and Darrell Dobbin.

As a resident, I just want to say how great it is that we have people working for the city that will go the extra mile to help those in need. We often don’t get a chance to recognize those that we rely on weekly to keep our homes and alleys free of refuse. Thanks, guys, for all that you do!!!!!
We have some of the best sanitation people in all of Richmond.
