Car flips in Shoestore lot

The $29.99 Shoe Warehouse lot at Westover Hills Blvd/49th St & Clarence St saw an overturned vehicle this morning. The T-D has a short video available.

People fly through that lot regularly, especially to use it as a cut-through to avoid the Forest Hill/Westover Hills light. I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often…

My girlfriend and I were just talking about how unsafe this intersection is (we’re on 49th). Im all for some speedbumps in the neighborhood. I was almost nailed here from someone failing to stop when he hit 49th st. He called me Batman?

Quite a few neighbors are ready for speed bumps on Clarence Street. It reminds me of a drag racing road. Next time you drive down the street look at all the car mirrors that have been knocked off or broken.

We’re with you on that, Janis. Alas, the city told me last year that, because Clarence connects two arterial roads, that heavy traffic was to be expected. I haven’t tried the police in a while, as the last time I did, I saw 1 police car for about 5 minutes, then it was gone.
