Increased police presence

The T-D is reporting that Richmond Police will be more visible in the area following a couple of armed attacks over the last few days.

A knife-wielding man attacked a woman early Sunday evening in the front yard of her home in the 4600 block of Sylvan Road. A man with a gun robbed a woman Monday night as she arrived home from work and got out of her car near Forest Hill Avenue and Peterborough Road.

Thanks for posting this note. The Westover Hills Neighborhood Watch and Westover Hills Neighborhood Association has been in contact with our police precinct captain and our sector lieutenant throughout the week. We are encouraged by the quick response of the police on this matter, the increased patrols, and the recognition that this is an “out of the norm” occurence. We are not unaware of similar occurences in nearby areas and are hoping that the police can quickly apprehend the individual(s) respoonsible.

We ask that all neighbors in our southside neighborhoods please continue to keep an eye out for suspicious persons or situations and report them immediately by calling 911!

Also, if you see a police officer in our neighborhood please make an attempt to express to them our appreciation for their efforts on our behalf! We are working together.
