Railroad death?

NBC12 is reporting that a body was found along the railroad tracks near the Nickel Bridge. No word whether it’s the north or south end, though.

WRIC report says it’s on the north end of the bridge.

I drove by heading north on the Nickel Bridge this morning. The section that is cordoned off with police tape is the sidewalk above the railroad tracks. I saw a bike, a shoe and a pool of blood. Ugh.

The victim has been identified. I understand he lived on this side of the river somewhere. (Turns out he was a resident of Forest View)

Property records show an address with an owner of that name in the same area as the hit & run the other night. Interesting coincidence.

This makes me sooo sad. Johnny Z was an awesome guy. This is very sad news.

Johnny Z was an amazing person. He was always available to help anyone who needed anything. It breaks my heart to loose him. I hope there are answers to what happened soon.

1.) That kid helped my wife and fussy baby into our car at Nonesuch last friday.

2.) Times Dispatch reporting seems rather late and thin (to me anyway.)
